Substitute Paraprofessional (Non-Certified Position)

Hours:

In accordance with School and APT Calendar (2/6/2026-4/30/2026)

Compensation: $120.00 per full-day Special Programs Paraprofessional assignment

• Current State of Illinois Paraprofessional Certificate or Substitute Teaching Certificate or Professional Educators License registered in Will County/Region 56
• Associate’s Degree or higher; or 60 hours of college coursework; or ACT Work Keys; or ETC Para Pro Test
• OR Current State of Illinois Paraprofessional Approval
• High School Diploma

• Ability to work as a team member
• Ability to communicate comfortably with students, parents/guardians, administrators, and others
• Ability to be flexible and patient
• Ability to follow and enforce rules, policies, and procedures
• Must be punctual and reliable

• Assist students across school settings (classroom, lunch, recess, restroom) if necessary
• Frequent walking, standing, and sitting
• Monitor student behavior
• Leaves notes for the regular paraprofessional at the end of the teaching day
• Communicate in a friendly and positive manner towards parents, students, and administrators
• Protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities
• Ensure the safety of students at all times
