Make a meaningful difference in the lives of students by supporting their unique learning journeys. These contract opportunities for certified Special Education Teachers offer full-time roles for the  school year in programs dedicated to providing individualized instruction for students with exceptional needs. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and families to create positive, supportive, and engaging learning environments.

Current opportunities include:
  • Autism Program:
    Serve K-3rd grade students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, focusing on communication and adaptive behavior.
  • Social, Emotional & Behavioral Needs:
    Support K-8th grade students (particularly grades 6-8) in a therapeutic setting that values social-emotional development.
  • Early Childhood Special

    Education:

    Lead two half-day sections for preschool/early childhood students with cross-categorical needs in a supportive, self-contained environment.
Desired

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or related field.
  • Valid Special Education Teaching Certification for Illinois.
  • Experience working with students diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, social/emotional/behavioral needs, or cross-categorical disabilities is preferred.
  • Strong ability to design and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Skilled in collaborating with paraprofessionals, therapists, and families.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and behavior management skills.
  • Ability to foster an inclusive and encouraging classroom culture.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deliver differentiated instruction tailored to each student's IEP.
  • Collect data and monitor student growth, adjusting strategies as needed.
  • Use evidence-based interventions for communication, behavior, and social skills.
  • Cultivate a safe, predictable, and nurturing environment to support learning.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and ongoing professional development.
  • Support and guide classroom aides and support staff.
