August 2026 - Salary: commensurate with education and experience under the APT Negotiated Agreement. Up to eight (8) years of verified relevant experience may be credited.

- Solid understanding of second language instruction.
- Experience working with English Learner students and families.
- Understanding of, or willingness to learn and apply, the WIDA ELD standards.
- Willingness to learn strategies for English Learners.
- Ability to integrate curriculum with Common Core standards.
- Plan and instruct students on district and Illinois State Standards aligned curriculum.
- Communicate verbally and in writing with parents and students on progress.
- Enter student grade information into appropriate computer databases in a timely manner.
- Develop lesson plans and goals that meet district expectations.
- Conduct and interpret formal and informal assessments to evaluate student progress, maintain records of student work, and develop intervention strategies.
- Collaborate with support teachers, paraprofessionals, and specialists to discuss student modifications or adaptations.
- Set clear expectations for class, manage classroom and school environment applying positive behavior supports and interventions, and establish a safe atmosphere conducive to a positive learning environment.
- Participate in staff development and school improvement activities to maintain professional growth.
- Plan and incorporate best practices or new strategies.
- Participate in events outside the scheduled work day such as orientation, open houses, conferences, or extra‑curricular activities.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Valid State of Illinois Professional Educator License with appropriate endorsements, registered in Will County/Region 56.
- BSPA/ESL and TBE preferred.
- Certificate of good health signed by a licensed medical provider.
