Overview
The NDE Program Manager serves as CB&I Services’ Radiation Safety Officer and technical authority for radiographic testing and advanced non-destructive examination methods supporting both self-performed and subcontracted construction activities. This role is critical to ensuring regulatory compliance, technical adequacy, and safe execution of all activities involving radiation-producing equipment. The NDE Program Manager reports to the Director, Operations and interfaces regularly with Corporate and Area Functional Leads, Area Welding and QA Managers, Area Quality Managers, and Project and Fabrication Shop Quality Managers.
Responsibilities- Act as CBIS Radiation Safety Officer and verify regulatory compliance and ensure all activities involving radiation producing equipment comply with safety standards.
- Oversee radiation safety programs and ensure NDE personnel exposure records are kept within permissible limits.
- Verify all rules and regulations are adhered to for each state Xray work performed on various CB&I jobs.
- Set up NDE tool list for starting new jobs, including Xray equipment, personnel dosimetry, survey meters, Xray film and chemicals, and helping get projects set‑up for self‑performing RT.
- Review third‑party (subcontracted) NDE programs to ensure they comply with all CB&I NDE safety requirements as well as local, state, and federal compliance.
- Maintain licenses.
- Train and qualify NDE technicians.
- Take shots and develop film as needed.
- Review RT schedules.
- Assist with calibration program (issuing calibration stickers).
- Assist with AUT on projects where it’s used.
- 20+ years of company/industry experience, 15+ in relevant discipline.
- 3–4 year university degree (preferred).
- Knowledge of CB&I products and markets.
- Proactively identifies and solves complex problems.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work and build credibility across the business.
