The BY YOUR SIDE Behavior Technician directs ABA Therapy to children ages 2-21 years old in the center and in-home environments.

The Behavior Technician implements skill acquisition programs and behavior management protocols under the supervision of the Clinical Supervisor.

They collect data on target behaviors during sessions and provide comprehensive ABA Therapy for BY YOUR SIDE clients under the direction of the Clinical Supervisor.

The technician defines problems, collects data, establishes facts, and draws valid conclusions. They interpret extensive technical instructions, read, analyze, and respond to inquiries or complaints from clients/families, and effectively present information to the BCBAs.

Hours vary based on client needs. Evening, weekend work and/or overtime may be required. Treatment plans are implemented across multiple environments including center, home, and community. Travel may be required.

Starting pay
: $22/hr

Essential Functions,

Duties & Responsibilities

Responsible for enforcing standards for ABA Therapy to maintain BY YOUR SIDE’s high quality of care for clients and families.

  • Provide direct 1:1 or small group therapy to children and young adults with autism consistent with the treatment plan under direction of the Clinical Supervisor.
  • Maintain targeted caseload hours of therapy per week.
  • Maintain confidentiality according to HIPAA guidelines.
  • Implement treatment plans across communication, social behavior, learner readiness skills, self‑care, replacement behavior, and behavior reduction per supervision.
  • Motivate clients by adapting activities to their preferences.
  • Respond calmly and intentionally to challenging behavior in alignment with the client Behavior Intervention Plan.
  • Assist with assessments, under supervision, and ensure proper training and administration of tools such as VBMAPP, ABLLS.
  • Maintain order and safety among clients in the therapy environment.
  • Assist other personnel with related tasks to support daily operations and provide session coverage for clients as needed.
  • Participate in staff, team, and interdisciplinary meetings to coordinate and communicate relevant information.
  • Attend training sessions via in‑person, video conferencing, or recorded materials.
  • Complete assignments related to ABA meetings and training by due date, including make‑up work.
  • Carry out daily center activities (opening/closing procedures, cleaning, organization, creation of session materials, assisting therapists).
  • Collect and maintain accurate client performance records through data collection and insurance notes on an online platform, ensuring billing through session conversion.
  • Travel to homes and communities may be required. Toilet training and diaper changing may be required.
  • Perform duties satisfactorily to uphold BYS core principles, policies, and procedures.
Include demonstrated competencies and physical, mental, & interpersonal skills.
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or enrollment in psychology, communication disorders, education, or related field preferred.
  • High interest and willingness to learn about and work with children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
  • Eagerness to learn about Applied Behavior Analysis and grow as a Behavior Technician.
  • Maintain quality, safety, and infection control standards.
  • Knowledge of sensory and behavioral strategies preferred.
