APEX serves patients in their homes and in skilled nursing facilities in 16 counties around the Chicago land area. Volunteers are encouraged to contribute near where they live or work.

You can make a profound difference in the quality of life for patients that are experiencing an end of life diagnosis.

If you are compassionate, are a great listener & you love people, this is the right place for you. You do not have to have any special experience but you do have to be willing to learn.

We will provide training and support and you will learn all about the hospice philosophy and how to care for people at end of life.

This is a BIG and worthy calling but surprisingly, it will not take too much of your time.

You can set your visit schedule with your volunteer coordinator and the patient care team. You can choose assignments near your home or your work.
