Position Summary

The Procurement Specialist – MHE supports the Senior Manager, Procurement – MHE in the administration, coordination, reporting and execution of Material Handling Equipment (MHE) procurement activities across the North America network. Responsibilities include sourcing, supplier communications, contract tracking, procurement documentation, spend reporting, fleet data maintenance and follow‑up on key initiatives involving MHE and related technology.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Support the Senior Manager in executing the North America MHE category strategy, including initiatives related to growth, savings/avoidance, standardisation, supplier performance and operational support.
  • Assist with preparation, coordination and administration of RFQ/RFP activities, including data collection, supplier communication, quote tracking, meeting coordination and documentation follow‑up.
  • Maintain accurate MHE‑related records, including fleet information, purchase documentation, supplier contacts, pricing files, contract dates, renewal timelines and program trackers.
  • Support spend analysis, category reporting, savings tracking and KPI reporting to monitor procurement performance and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Coordinate with Operations, Safety, Finance, IT and other teams to gather requirements, validate site needs, confirm equipment specifications and support timely implementation of procurement initiatives.
  • Assist with supplier onboarding, quarterly business review preparation, scorecard updates, service‑level tracking and follow‑up on open supplier action items.
  • Provide administrative and analytical support for MHE programmes such as telematics, fleet management systems, maintenance programmes and equipment standardisation.
  • Track rollout of executed agreements, pricing updates, equipment orders and vendor programmes to keep stakeholders informed.
  • Help organise and maintain procurement templates, dashboards, trackers, presentations, supplier files and process documentation for the MHE category.
  • Support compliance with company procurement procedures, safety expectations, equipment standards and documentation requirements.
  • Perform other procurement, reporting, coordination and project support duties as assigned by the Senior Manager.
Skills & Abilities Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Business, Logistics or equivalent fields (required).
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in procurement, supply chain, operations support, vendor management, project coordination or related functions.
  • Ability to work in unregulated temperatures within a warehouse during varying seasons.
Computer Skills
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office.
  • Working knowledge of procurement administration, vendor coordination, reporting, and capital equipment or fleet‑related sourcing support.
  • Familiarity with fleet management or telematics platforms (e.g., Crown Info Link, Raymond iWAREHOUSE, Powerfleet) is a plus.
Language Skills
  • English – reading, writing and verbal.
Mathematical Skills
  • Intermediate mathematical, accounting and financial skills.
Other Skills
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills.
  • Ability to navigate within a matrixed organisational structure.
  • Results‑oriented with strong time‑management and multitasking ability.
  • Capable of working well under pressure and questioning existing practices.
  • Support projects by organising information, following up on action items and providing reliable administrative and analytical support to leadership.

  • Integration experience with the supply‑chain industry is helpful.
Preferred Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
  • Third‑party logistics experience (preferred).
  • Experience supporting sourcing activities for capital equipment, MHE, fleet categories, maintenance services or vendor‑managed programmes.
  • Experience assisting with telematics, fleet management, asset tracking or maintenance technology programmes.
