Tube Laser Operator
The Tube Laser Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining the tube laser machine(s) in accordance with standard operating procedures and work instructions. This role includes selecting and loading raw materials, importing part files, adjusting machine settings, and inspecting parts to ensure conformance to specifications. Operators are expected to have a strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring tools.
Safety, quality, and efficiency are essential in this role.
Medium work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Essential Job Duties
- Select and verify raw materials using tape measures and calipers according to EMJ color codes.
- Load raw material using forklifts, side loaders, or overhead cranes.
- Import part files into the laser system from a remote drive using Windows-based applications.
- Set machine parameters, change lenses, nozzles, and filters, and perform basic maintenance.
- Adjust tech tables as necessary including laser focus, gas pressure, and power settings.
- Inspect finished parts using calipers, height gauges, micrometers, and other precision tools to ensure they match print specifications.
- Read and interpret packaging instructions to properly package finished parts using manual or mechanical assistance.
- Transport packaged goods to staging areas using forklifts, side loaders, or overhead cranes.
- Maintain work area cleanliness and comply with all company safety protocols and procedures.
This role is classified as Medium Work:
Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Warehouse/Field setting; minimal temperature environment
Qualifications
- 1–2 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Valid Driver's License preferred.
- Ability to obtain certification to operate material handling equipment.
- Experience in warehousing or material handling is preferred.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
- Basic math and measurement skills including fractions and unit conversions.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to use basic hand tools.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks.
- Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with team members.
The anticipated compensation for this position is USD $22.00/Hr.
- USD $24.00/Hr. depending on experience, qualifications, and location.
