Production/Sanitation Associate – Food Manufacturing

Job Description
This role supports the production of high-quality finished protein products in a clean, team-oriented food manufacturing environment. You will assist with mixing, processing, and packaging flavored protein products, perform sanitation tasks, and follow strict quality and food safety standards to help meet daily production goals.
Responsibilities
- Produce finished protein products according to company specifications and quality standards.
- Assist with production processes involving flavored protein products, including caramel and strawberry varieties.
- Operate within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment to meet daily production targets.
- Perform thorough cleaning and sanitation duties after production runs, following established procedures.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area throughout the shift.
- Follow all quality control procedures and food safety guidelines, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Accurately complete production and packaging documentation and any required paperwork.
- Work collaboratively as part of a team to achieve production goals and support coworkers as needed.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe work environment.
- Carry out janitorial and sanitizing duties related to production and packaging areas as required.
Essential Skills
- Previous experience in production, packaging, warehouse, or manufacturing is preferred.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the entire shift.
- Reliable attendance and a consistently positive attitude.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a collaborative team.
- Understanding of basic cleaning and sanitation practices in a food manufacturing setting.
- Willingness to follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and food safety protocols.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in food manufacturing or food production environments is a plus.
- Experience in cleaning, janitorial work, or sanitation duties is beneficial.
- Familiarity with sanitizing procedures and maintaining hygienic production areas.
- Comfort working with confectionery and ingredient products such as gummies, caramels, marshmallows, and other sweets.
- Strong work ethic and desire to contribute to a growing manufacturing team.

Work Environment
This position is based in a food manufacturing facility in Plainfield, Illinois that produces custom sweets, ingredients, and protein products for candy, ice cream, and bakery businesses. The work is performed on-site in a production environment with strict GMP, sanitation, and food safety standards. You will work Monday through Friday from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM on a consistent shift. The role involves standing, walking, bending, and lifting for the duration of the shift and working around production and packaging equipment, cleaning supplies, and sanitizing agents.
The facility emphasizes a clean, organized, and safety-focused atmosphere, with team members collaborating closely to meet production goals.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Plainfield, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
