Quality Lab Technician

Volt is immediately hiring a Quality Lab Technician in Plainfield, IL.

Shift: Night Shift - 6.00 pm to 6.00 am

First week
- Long Week shift:
Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday - 6.00 pm to 6.00 am

Second week
- Short week shift Wednesday and Thursday.

- 6.00 pm to 6.00 am

As a Quality Lab Technician, you will:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quality Lab Technician to join our Quality Team. The ideal candidate will have 1–3 years of analytical experience in both laboratory and plant environments, with a strong preference for candidates from chemistry or microbiology backgrounds. This role is critical in ensuring that our distilled products meet regulatory and company standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide quality leadership during night shift operations.
  • Perform microbiological testing on water, ingredients, and distilled products.
  • Conduct process audits to ensure compliance with Global Risk Management and North American Standards.
  • Inspect raw materials for conformance to product specifications.
  • Conduct sensory and analytical testing on in-process and finished products.
  • Support non-conforming goods management and documentation.
  • Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment including HPLC, spectrophotometer, and alcolyzer.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues and support continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experience in a production laboratory supporting on-site production/processing.
  • Experience with non-conforming goods management.
  • Production experience is required.
  • Familiarity with HPLC, spectrophotometer, alcolyzer, and other analytical equipment.
  • Understanding of microbiological test methodologies is a plus.
  • Ability to perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance of lab equipment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree or Diploma in Science or Engineering.
  • 3–5 years of analytical experience in a laboratory and plant environment.
  • Experience in the distilled products industry or similar regulated manufacturing environments.

This is a Contract full time opportunity.

Pay Rate: $23.00 - $25.20 per hour
