Hiring CDL B Side Load Truck Drivers

Safety is our first priority. We are looking for experienced side load garbage truck drivers to work Monday to Saturday, 3am to 1:30pm in Plainfield, NJ. Hourly pay is $31.27 with a full comprehensive benefits package (Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k) and more).

Interstate Waste Services is the most progressive and innovative provider of solid waste and recycling services in the country. We primarily serve Northern New Jersey, Southern New York State, New York City, and have recently expanded operations into Pennsylvania and Ohio, where we own and operate a state‑of‑the‑art rail‑served landfill.

• Drive front, side or rear‑loading garbage trucks for pick‑up of waste or recyclable material.
• Transport waste to disposal, transfer or recycling facilities; may make multiple trips per shift.
• Deploy both manual and automatic trucks.
• Repetitively lift up to 50 lbs and move or maneuver up to 100 lbs; repeatedly mount and dismount the truck.

• 21 years of age and legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Valid Class A or B CDL with Airbrake endorsement.
• At least 1 year of CDL driving experience within the last 7 years.
• Excellent safety record and clean MVR.
• Experience as a driver or helper for a Refuse Company preferred.
• Working knowledge of DOT, OSHA and applicable traffic regulations.
• Ability to speak and read English, understand highway traffic signals, respond to official questions and make legible entries on reports and records.
• Read and understand a map.
• Meet physical and safety requirements of the position.
• Willing and able to work required hours under DOT regulation, including weekends, nights, and holidays.

• Routes may require navigation through congested communities and confined or tight areas in city locations.
• High skill in backing maneuvers is essential.
• Drivers routinely climb in and out of the truck cab to service customer accounts.
• Perform pre‑ and post‑inspection of the truck to ensure compliance with IWS safety standards, OSHA, DOT regulations and local traffic laws.
• Other duties as assigned.
