Position Description
Ryder is hiring a full‑time Warehouse Team Lead in Plainfield, Illinois.
Warehouse Positions Pay Weekly:
- Hourly Pay: $22.50 per hour
- Additional Pay:
- Shift Premium: $2.50 per hour
- Slip Sheet Certified: $0.50 per hour
- Schedule:
Wed. (6pm – 3am) & Thurs – Sat. (6pm – 5am)
- Warehouse positions pay each week
- On‑the‑job paid training

- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- At least 1 year of powered industrial truck experience preferred
- At least 1 year of prior team‑lead experience preferred
- At least 1 year of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, etc.) preferred
- At least 1 year of prior warehouse experience preferred
- Knowledge of or experience with an RF scanner – advanced required
- Valid forklift operator’s license, certified
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Effective leadership skills
- Flexibility to work in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
- Excellent organizational skills
- Proactive approach to responsibilities
- Maintains composure under pressure
- Working using health and safety methods
- Bilingual (for Quebec locations only)
- Lead and ensure continuous improvement efforts for optimal efficiency of operations.
- Perform warehouse functions, which may include loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and cycle counting.
- Allocate resources and organize daily work duties for team members to ensure optimal shift/team operational logistics.
- Inspire and guide team members toward improved key performance indicators (KPIs) using appropriate leadership styles and methods.
- Assist in providing orientation for employees and give them the necessary information, technology, and tools to perform their jobs.
- Promote health and safety working methods within the warehouse.
- Handle day‑to‑day paperwork in a warehouse environment (e.g., picking sheets, returns, bills of lading).
- Complete and submit daily reports and propose action plans to enhance operations effectiveness and service levels.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
