Shift

Schedule:

2nd Shift, Monday - Friday / 4:00 PM - 12:30 AM (Hours may vary based on business needs)

Salary: $65k annual salary

Location: 26220 W 143rd St, Plainfield, IL 60544 (W20)

Job Purpose: This position reports to the Co-Pack/Retail Fulfillment Manager. The Warehouse Manager oversees shift staff, conducts performance reviews, handles disciplinary actions, and manages all computer entry work and paperwork flow.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assign work assignments for all warehouse staffing, considering customer specifications.
  • Monitor shipment quality and accuracy per customer specifications and apply any required changes.
  • Communicate with customers and respond to inquiries, implementing required actions.
  • Ensure safety, training and development of employees, drivers and contractors in accordance with OSHA and RJW policies.
  • Oversee completion of all computer data entry, checking for accuracy and efficiency.
  • Assign duties and examine work for exactness, neatness and conformity to policies and procedures.
  • Maintain and approve shift employee timesheets for weekly payroll, including temp hours, and correct as needed.
  • Monitor overtime hours to meet department requirements.
  • Conduct daily building checks, notifying Co-Pack manager of equipment or building issues and assist with preventive maintenance.
  • Ensure warehouse employees follow all AIB processes, procedures and guidelines, and that they have AIB training for handling food products.
  • Ensure completion of all safety checklists as designated by SOP or policy.
  • Issue corrective action or work orders to address issues.
  • Handle accident reporting and care of injured employees, notifying HR and management of emergencies.
  • Perform other duties as instructed by Co-Pack manager.
Qualifications and Experience Required

Minimum 3 to 5 years related experience and/or training in co-pack;
Minimum 2 years related experience and/or training in warehouse environment;
Experience using WMS software (Synapse preferred); PC literacy with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Access Database.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to physically count articles or products on shelves, racks and pallets.
Language Skills

Must effectively communicate, read, write and speak English. Must read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Must write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Must present information and respond to questions from managers, clients and customers.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure; compute rates, ratios and percentages; interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with varying conditions; interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form; determine root cause and corrective action.

Computer Skills

Knowledge of business operating systems, internet software, word processing, spreadsheets; familiarity with labeling software (Nice Label, Bartender) a plus.

Physical Demands

Occasional lifting or moving up to 50 pounds; ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; use keyboard and buttons; speak clearly; indoor office environment with repetitive motion; ability to work beyond continuous 8 hours; handle stressful conditions with strong cognitive skills; 20/20 corrected vision; medical certification of sound physical health; no evidence of controlled substance use.

Work Environment

Exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles; noise level ranges from quiet to moderate.
