Contract Logistics Specialist (Future Opening – Plainfield, Indiana)

Kuehne+Nagel is seeking a dedicated specialist to manage end‑to‑end warehousing operations for our customers. In this role you will coordinate and plan customer orders and shipments, respond to inquiries on shipment visibility and status, and provide front‑line support to ensure customer satisfaction.

• Coordinate and plan customer orders/shipments according to agreed scope.
• Manage all customer inquiries regarding shipment visibility and status.
• Utilize transport management systems and input manual orders as needed.
• Collaborate with other departments, both at customer sites and across the IL organization.
• Show ownership of your area of responsibility and execute tasks with the expected level of productivity and performance.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Adhere to K+N guidelines, SOPs, and business process mapping.
• Execute in‑scope services (order fulfilment, transport management, request/deviation management, visibility, monitoring, claims processing) at first‑class service level.
• Respond to stakeholder requests (e.g., customer requests) in a timely manner.
• Comply with all health, safety, quality, security, environmental, legal, regulatory requirements, company policies and procedures.
• Participate in quality audits related to general and client‑specific quality programs.

• 1‑3 years of experience in logistics and/or customer service.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Solid knowledge and understanding of logistics.
• Strong customer service orientation.
• Interest in working with transport or warehouse management systems.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, systematic and methodical approach.
• Capacity for multitasking and managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
• Good communication and organizational skills.
