Lead Engineering Technologist to serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Generating Station Distributed Control Systems (DCS). The Lead Engineering Technologist/SME will provide technical support for operations, maintenance, and projects for multiple generation technologies across multiple geographic regions.
Basic Qualifications
- Either 6+ years of relevant industry experience coupled with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Engineering Technology, or 8+ years of experience and Associate Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology, or 10+ years equivalent experience without a degree
Additional Preferred Qualifications
- Skilled in engineering theories and principles
- Skilled in the practices of researching engineering and design issues, evaluating alternatives, making sound recommendations and preparing and presenting recommendations.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Skilled in principles of project management.
- Experience in the utility industry.
- Experience with design, construction, commissioning, and/or process engineering support for generation facilities
- Experience with utility industry process control and automation equipment
- Experience with specific DCS manufacturers equipment:
Emerson Ovation, Siemens T3000, GE Mark VIe
Working Conditions
- This position will support generation facilities of multiple technology types in all of Duke Energy’s operating regions.
- Routine travel within the home region will be required (~15-25%). Occasional travel to other regions will be required (5-10%)
