Banning Engineering is seeking an experienced Water / Wastewater Project Manager to lead the planning, design, and execution of municipal water and wastewater infrastructure projects from our Plainfield, Indiana office.
This role will work closely with municipalities and multidisciplinary teams to deliver reliable environmental infrastructure, including water and wastewater treatment facilities, distribution and collection systems, and stormwater improvements. The ideal candidate is a technically strong project manager who can build client relationships, lead teams, manage budgets and schedules, and contribute to the continued growth of Banning Engineering's Water Resources practice.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the planning, design, and execution of water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
- Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for municipal clients and maintain strong client relationships.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams and consultants.
- Provide technical direction, leadership, and mentorship to team members.
- Conduct field investigations, site visits, and site evaluations.
- Ensure projects comply with applicable federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and review technical reports, plans, specifications, presentations, and other project documentation.
- Identify and resolve technical, scheduling, and project delivery challenges.
- Support business development and contribute to the growth of the Water Resources practice.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in water and wastewater system design and project management.
- Strong understanding of applicable water and wastewater regulations and permitting requirements.
- Proven leadership, team management, and client communication skills.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and familiarity with GIS mapping tools
. - Experience conducting site evaluations and preparing technical reports.
- Strong project budgeting, scheduling, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Professional Engineer (
PE
) license. - 5-7 years of experience working on water and wastewater projects.
- Experience working with municipal clients, particularly in central Indiana.
- Experience with water and wastewater treatment facilities, distribution systems, collection systems, and/or stormwater infrastructure.
