Join the First Merchants Bank Team as a Secured Credit Operations Specialist!
We are looking for a motivated individual to handle operational tasks related to secured credit delivery within our commercial banking portfolio. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in a rewarding environment.
In this role, you will:- Exercise judgment for the approval or denial of draw requests and manage daily draws, ensuring seamless processing during absences.
- Develop flow of funds documents and identify essential accounts for effective ABL monitoring.
- Create and maintain comprehensive files for each account, including loan documents, customer details, and collateral information.
- Review collateral and borrowing base reports, validating calculations of borrowing availability by analyzing accounts receivable, accounts payable, and inventory as needed. Share line availability updates with loan services and account managers.
- Communicate significant issues over advances to management and play a key role in problem resolution.
- Explain the secured credit function and daily operations to customers effectively.
- Provide trend reporting and analysis as requested, including a weekly portfolio availability report.
- Engage with clients to address questions and resolve issues related to draws and availability.
- Monitor documentary collections, commercial letters, and standby letters of credit.
- Manage letter of credit expirations, auto-renewals, and cancellation processes.
- Consult with Relationship Managers on information necessary for issuing standby, international standby, and commercial letters of credit.
- Set up and track customers utilizing our correspondent for issuing international letters of credit.
- Understand the documentary collections process for imports or exports.
- Deliver timely and accurate customer service in a professional manner.
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
- At least one (1) year of relevant analytical or banking experience.
- Bachelor's degree.
- Experience in secured credit, Stucky Net system, commercial credit analysis, or letters of credit (domestic or international).
- Proficiency in MS Office products including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Familiarity with Adobe Acrobat and the ability to learn job-related software quickly.
