About Plainfield Correctional Facility:

As a part of the Indiana Department of Correction, the Plainfield Correctional Facility promotes public safety by providing meaningful, effective opportunities for successful re-entry. The Plainfield Correctional Facility is a medium security Correctional facility for adult males. Plainfield Correctional Facility is located in Plainfield, Indiana.

The Plainfield Correctional Facility offers resources and treatment geared toward mental health and substance use, along with multiple educational opportunities. The goal is that through treatment and rehabilitation geared toward everyone, the facility will help prepare incarcerated men to re-enter their community with more skills and confidence than when they arrived.

Role Overview
:

As a Correctional Program Director at the Plainfield Correctional Facility, you recommend changes in existing programs which may influence total agency operation based on agency policies. You will work independently and possess sufficient technical authority for the work. Your decisions and major recommendations are reviewed for compliance with agency policy and attainment of goals. You will make a substantial contribution to the development and implementation of significant programs.

The salary for this position traditionally starts at $53,222.00 but may be commensurate with education and work experience. Use our Compensation Calculator to view the total compensation package.

A Day in the Life

The essential functions of this role are as follows:

  • Monitor key performance indicators and program objectives to ensure program effectiveness.
  • Assist in developing, updating, and monitoring all policies and procedures related to the program area.
  • Interpret and explain policies, rules, regulations, or laws to leadership or customers.
  • Implement corrective action plans to solve program problems.
  • Answer customer questions about program policies and procedures.
  • Act as technical consultant to stakeholders to clarify and interpret policies and procedures.
  • Analyze, prepare and disseminate monthly and annual program reports.
  • Review the budget to ensure program assets are allocated appropriately and provide budgetary recommendations to improve program area finances.
  • Monitor compliance and make recommendations to the program to increase efficiencies.
  • Prepare training materials and train agency employees on program requirements and usage.
  • Deliver communication plans and communications.
  • Serve as a liaison between agency and other state and federal agencies.
  • Serve on management committees or other governing boards.
  • Recruit, select, onboard, and train employees to ensure role responsibilities and expectations are clearly understood while providing opportunities to continue professional development.
  • Set expectations, measure progress, provide ongoing feedback, and evaluate the performance of employees. Ensure work adheres to quality standards, deadlines, and proper procedures.
