Intake Assessment Clinician
A dedicated and detail-oriented Intake Assessment Clinician will respond to referrals and support discharge planning at Hendricks Behavioral Hospital. The role is full‑time, held on overnight shifts Friday through Sunday 7pm – 7:30am, with shift differential and weekend pay.
Responsibilities- Document and process inquiry calls according to Intake policies.
- Assess and stabilize patients before discharge or arrange hospital admission.
- Notify and assist the on‑call doctor with patient interviews.
- Obtain administrative approval for all admissions.
- Complete admission paperwork following hospital policy.
- Maintain an intake log with all necessary information documented.
- Make follow‑up calls to patients who fail to show up for appointments.
- Demonstrate guest relations by example and provide counseling to employees in need of training.
- A Master’s Degree in a human relations field.
- Licensed to practice in the State of Indiana as a mental health professional (Social Worker, Counselor, or RN with MHP) preferred.
- Experience in intake assessment activities within an acute psychiatric setting is preferred.
- Working knowledge of the latest DSM and Mental Status Exam; familiarity with the Addiction and Recovery field.

Compensation: $31.00–$36.00 hourly, based on experience. No travel required.
