Intake Assessment Clinician

A dedicated and detail-oriented Intake Assessment Clinician will respond to referrals and support discharge planning at Hendricks Behavioral Hospital. The role is full‑time, held on overnight shifts Friday through Sunday 7pm – 7:30am, with shift differential and weekend pay.

• Document and process inquiry calls according to Intake policies.
• Assess and stabilize patients before discharge or arrange hospital admission.
• Notify and assist the on‑call doctor with patient interviews.
• Obtain administrative approval for all admissions.
• Complete admission paperwork following hospital policy.
• Maintain an intake log with all necessary information documented.
• Make follow‑up calls to patients who fail to show up for appointments.
• Demonstrate guest relations by example and provide counseling to employees in need of training.

• A Master’s Degree in a human relations field.
• Licensed to practice in the State of Indiana as a mental health professional (Social Worker, Counselor, or RN with MHP) preferred.
• Experience in intake assessment activities within an acute psychiatric setting is preferred.
• Working knowledge of the latest DSM and Mental Status Exam; familiarity with the Addiction and Recovery field.

Compensation: $31.00–$36.00 hourly, based on experience. No travel required.
