LOCATION REQUIREMENT

This role is based in Plainfield, IN and requires office presence five days a week. Applicants must live within commuting distance.

POSITION SUMMARY

As the HR Business Partner for Operations, you will support the employee lifecycle—from recruiting and talent management to employee relations, labor relations, training, and development. You will serve as the first point of contact for employee matters, provide consulting to leadership, and partner with senior HR to refine processes.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Advocate for employees, connecting them to appropriate resources and resolving concerns in a timely manner.
  • Provide HR support to leadership on talent management, performance management, and employee relations; act as first point of escalation.
  • Conduct workplace investigations with discretion, authoring and maintaining documentation; ensure objective resolution.
  • Coach and advise leadership on complex, emotional situations.
  • Support talent acquisition initiatives for Operations, addressing hourly associate staffing challenges.
  • Assist with leave of absence laws, including FMLA and PFML, in partnership with Benefits Manager.
  • Ensure compliance with city, state, and federal employment and labor laws; update policies and procedures as needed.
  • Translate business priorities into high‑impact programs and collaborate on new policies, procedures, and tools.
  • Streamline employee programs such as recognition, anti‑harassment, performance management, and talent development.
  • Maintain employee files and training records while safeguarding confidentiality.
  • Build collaborative, team‑oriented relationships across the organization.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

  • Qualifications and Requirements
    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field.
    • SHRM‑CP or PHR certification preferred.
    • 5‑7 years progressive HR experience, with at least 1 year recruiting in a fast‑paced team.
    • Experience managing complex employee relations issues to resolution.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Smartsheet, and PowerPoint.
    • Experience with HRIS / Applicant Tracking Systems such as Greenhouse; record‑management preferred.
    • Multilingual preferred.
    • Ability to organize, prioritize work and understand HR compliance requirements.
    • Regular, predictable onsite attendance required (5 days/week); opportunity to transition to hybrid with 1 day remote.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Work is light to medium in nature with frequent walking.
  • Willingness to travel to other BDA locations and offices.
  • Ability to move in an office environment to access files, type, handle, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Regularly required to talk or hear.
COMPENSATION

Base salary range: $70,000 – $90,000. Compensation is determined by geographic location, skills, education, and experience. The range is only one component of BDA’s total compensation and rewards program, which includes robust PTO, vacation, a paid volunteer day, holidays, summer Fridays, benefits (medical, dental, vision, life, AD&D insurance), 401(k), tuition reimbursement, mental health and financial wellness programs, and professional development opportunities.

Certain revenue‑generating positions may be eligible for incentive compensation.
