Parks Maintenance Operations Manager

The Parks Maintenance Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations and administration of the Town’s parks, trails, and athletic fields, as well as the maintenance of all facilities and buildings including the Carlucci Recreation and Aquatic Center.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

Manages the operations of all guest activities in the parks, on the trails and athletic fields to include: special outside event rentals, youth groups, schools, and daily guests and schedules the police and emergency medical services (EMS), as needed.

Coordinates the day-to-day operations and maintenance of all parks, trails, facilities and athletic fields to include: overseeing daily and preventive maintenance at the Carlucci Recreation and Aquatic Center, overseeing maintenance related contracts and vendor performance for the department.

Ensures that all aspects of the parks, trails, athletic fields, and facilities operate in a clean and safe manner by conducting routine safety meetings and inspections.

Prioritizes and directs work orders for maintenance needs, with aquatic center maintenance, pool chemistry and related high-profile operations set as the first priority.

Serves as the liaison for the Youth Athletic Leagues and manages and coordinates schedules and facility usage.

Works closely with the Carlucci Recreation and Aquatic Center General Manager to ensure that facility maintenance needs are responded to in a timely manner. Coordinates in the snow removal at the Richard

A. Carlucci Center, in the parks, on trails and at the facilities.

Prepares extensive monthly and annual reports relating to the operations of the parks, trails and athletic fields, as well as with regards to the maintenance of all facilities and buildings.

Works closely with the Director of Parks and Recreation to develop short-term and long-term planning goals and capital improvement recommendations.

Supervises the proper maintenance of equipment and tools and maintains a variety of records relating to repairs, replacements, and maintenance activities.

Operates trucks of various sizes and weights in the loading, hauling, and unloading of various equipment, mulch, brick dust, gravel, and sand.

Attends meetings, as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervises all employees in the parks, trails and athletic fields division of parks, as well as all maintenance employees assigned to the Carlucci Recreation and Aquatic Center. Employee carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; scheduling and approving time worked; appraising performance;

rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
