About Reception Diagnostic Center:

The Reception Diagnostic Center is a maximum‑security intake facilitylocatedin Plainfield, Indiana, with a capacity of more than 600 incarcerated adult males. All adult males entering the Indiana Department of Correction are received, assessed, and classified at this facility. Assessments include physical and mental health evaluations, addiction services screening, and education and work‑readiness reviews. This information helpsdeterminethe most appropriate long‑term facility placement. Staff coordinate comprehensive evaluations to support safety and rehabilitation.

As a Stores Clerk, you will perform a wide variety of tasks in the overall operation of the commissary which involves stocking, disbursing, and controlling goods and supplies for incarcerated individuals. This includes transporting supplies from the warehouse to the commissary and supervising incarcerated individuals in assisting with these tasks.

The salary for this position traditionally starts at $29,588.00 but may be commensurate with education and work experience. Use our Compensation Calculator to view the total compensation package.

The essential functions of this role are as follows:

• Enter and maintain detailed inventory records in Access database.
• Approve incoming shipments of incarcerated individuals institutional and medical records.
• Place or locate records to assigned positions for storage.
• Retrieve records for incoming incarcerated individuals.
• Scan institutional records into DOC imaging database.
• Pull records for destruction as they meet DOC criteria.

You must meet the following requirements to be considered for employment:

• Effective communication skills.
• General Office knowledge including computer skills.
• Ability to maintain detailed inventory records.
• Ability to train on the proper methods of storing, retrieving and destruction of incarcerated individual’s records.
• Ability to train in the operation of mechanical equipment like a scissor lift or hand‑truck.
