Quality Control Tech II
CoWorx is seeking a Quality Control Tech II in Plainfield, Indiana. A dynamic automotive manufacturer is looking for a quality control tech to join their team in Plainfield Indiana. This is onsite 7am-3:30pm from Mon-Fri and will act as an internal and external auditor for the facility. The Quality Control technician is responsible for conducting inspections and testing of raw materials, in-process components, and finished products to ensure compliance with internal specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
You'll need solid understanding of quality control principles, measurement tools, and inspection techniques, with the ability to document and communicate findings effectively. This reports to the Quality Manager and works with Production and Research & Development teams.
Responsibilities:
- Perform inspections and analytical tests on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished goods in accordance with established procedures and specifications
- Accurately record and maintain detailed inspection results, test data, and deviations in logs and quality documentation systems
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, and findings, including reports, logs, and other documentation
- Identify and document nonconformances; escalate issues to appropriate departments for resolution
- Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement activities related to product quality and process enhancements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Production, R&D, and Quality Assurance, to ensure consistent product quality
- Calibrate equipment used for testing and ensure proper maintenance
- Assist in training production staff and new technicians
- Contribute to the development of SOPs and work instructions
- Identify and report safety issues related to Quality Assurance Manager
Desired Background/
Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2 years of inspection quality control experience in an industrial environment (chemical manufacturing a plus)
- Working knowledge of inspection methods, measurement tools, and analytical testing techniques
- Competency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and electronic data systems
- Strong attention to detail, organizational, and documentation skills
- Understanding of industry standards, regulations, and company policies related to quality
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to evaluate data, identify patterns, draw conclusions, and resolve quality issues
- Ability to effectively communicate findings and recommendations
- Ability to manage documentation and track testing specifications
- Interest in cars and car care, a plus!
Work Environment:
- This role requires prolonged standing and walking throughout the warehouse facility with exposure to raw materials, loud noises, and varying warehouse temperatures
- Proper PPE and adherence to dress code is required
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs routinely
