QUALITY CONTROL TECH II – PLAINFIELD, IN
An awesome Quality Manager at a chemical manufacturer in Plainfield, IN is looking for a Quality Control Technician II to join their team. This is first shift, Mon-Fri and the QC Tech II acts as an internal and external auditor for the facility, conducts quality inspections and testing of raw materials, in-process components, and finished products, and ensures compliance with internal specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Perform inspections and analytical tests on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished goods in adherence to all required procedures and specifications.
- Accurately record and maintain detailed inspection results, test data, and deviations in logs and quality documentation systems.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, findings, reports, logs, and documentation.
- Identify and document nonconformances; elevate issues to appropriate teams for resolution.
- Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement activities related to product quality and process enhancements.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including Production, R&D, and Quality Assurance, to ensure consistent product quality.
- Calibrate equipment used for testing and ensure its proper maintenance.
- Assist in training production staff and new technicians.
- Contribute to the development of SOPs and work instructions.
- Identify and report safety issues.
- High school diploma.
- 2 years of inspection quality control experience in an industrial environment.
- Chemical manufacturing or ISO knowledge is a plus.
- Knowledge of inspection methods, measurement tools, and analytical testing techniques.
- Competency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and electronic data systems.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational, and documentation skills.
- Understanding of industry standards, regulations, and company policies related to quality.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.
- Ability to evaluate data, identify patterns, draw conclusions, and resolve quality issues.
- Ability to effectively communicate findings and recommendations.
- Ability to manage documentation and track testing specifications.
- Onsite in laboratory and production floor environment.
- May require standing for extended periods, lifting up to 25 lbs, and wearing appropriate PPE.
- Regular exposure to chemicals and lab equipment; adherence to safety protocols is mandatory.
