Job Description
Penske is hiring a CDL Class A Truck Driver in Plainfield, IN. The role involves delivering snack products to stores locally, operating late-model Penske trucks equipped with safety cameras, and maintaining high customer service standards.
- Average salary: $97,708 annually
- Work week: 5 days (Sunday through Thursday)
- Driver referral bonus program: up to $5,000 per referral
- Layovers: 1 to 2 per week
- Drive late-model, Penske Truck Leasing trucks – best-in-class specs with inward and outward-facing in‑cab cameras.
- Deliver snack products to stores locally.
- Unload using a manual pallet jack.
- Average 8‑10 stops per week.
- Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with customers.
- 5‑day work week:
Sunday through Thursday. - Time off:
Friday from 8 AM to Sunday 8 PM. - 1 to 2 layovers required per week.
- 8 PM dispatch.

- Valid Class A CDL required; applicants must be domiciled in the U.S. and licensed in their state of residence.
- Must hold or be able to obtain a non‑excepted interstate DOT medical card.
- 1 year of documented tractor‑trailer experience in the last 3 years, or 2 years in the last 5 years.
- 3‑year DMV/MVR record with two or fewer moving violations or accidents.
- Follow all federal, state, and agency regulations, laws, and guidelines.
- Regular, predictable, full attendance is essential.
- English language proficiency required to comply with federal law.
- Must complete Penske employment application, background investigation, and drug screening.
- Position is regulated by the Department of Transportation; requires constant alertness and safety vigilance.
- Must be able to see and hear; requires close, distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
- Frequent movement, standing, walking, and sitting; use of hands to touch, handle, and feel; reach with hands and arms.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lb (23 kg); occasionally lift up to 100 lb (45 kg).
- Legally operate a motor vehicle and enter/exit vehicle and rear cargo area safely.
