Job Summary:
The Welcome Center associate is responsible for the efficient day-to-day inbound/outbound carrier verification process as directed by the Supervisor. They must ensure that drivers have been properly identified and all shipping/receiving documents are complete and accurate.
Job Responsibilities: (Primary Duties, Roles, and/or Authorities)
- Check in/out all containers in accordance with established parameters
- Control inbound/outbound flows
- Perform container security checks to confirm all safety/quality standards are met
- Record door/yard assignments into the yard management system
- Direct drivers to proper yard locations
- Assist in tracking and reporting data pertinent to receipt/dispatch, including logging discrepancies
- Become knowledgeable of the responsibilities of the other warehouse positions. Assist as required. Act as back up at times of absence or vacation
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or GED, preferred
- 1 year of relevant experience, required
Knowledge and
Skills:
- Ability to work in a fast-paced distribution environment
- Ability to read and interpret distribution documents
- Ability to work under minimal supervision
- Ability to perform/operate in a metrics-driven environment
Basic analytical, organizational and prioritization skills - Proficient in the use of a PC, with strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- General distribution knowledge

The associate may occasionally be required to climb. The job may require lifting over 50lbs in some areas but not all. Associate must have normal field of vision corrected to 20/40 in each eye and must have hearing sufficient to safely operate MHE [Material Handling Equipment] in a manufacturing/distribution environment.
Work Environment: (if applicable)
The noise level is moderate to loud. There will almost always be exposure to work near moving mechanical equipment, exposure to precarious situations and potential temperature excursions. Occasionally the position will have exposure to fumes/airborne particles.
