POSITION SUMMARY
C.H. Robinson is seeking a Lead Warehouse Associate to play a pivotal role in training, coaching, and overseeing our warehouse team. In this position, you’ll ensure the safe and efficient loading and unloading of freight from trailers or ocean containers, maintaining the flow of materials within the warehouse. You will elevate our operations by implementing process enhancements, resolving issues, and achieving efficiency improvements.
We’re seeking an individual who is dependable, detail-oriented, and safety-minded, capable of thriving in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Shift: 2nd shift (Monday-Friday: 3:00pm-11:30pm)
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Support warehouse supervisory team in adhering to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and ensure their implementation
- Assist warehouse team in utilizing Warehouse Management System (WMS), including training and troubleshooting, to maintain efficient warehouse organization
- Receive goods from customers and suppliers by offloading and loading vehicles, checking paperwork, weighing, measuring, and reporting discrepancies or damages
- Operate stand-up, sit-down forklifts, and hand jacks for palletization, stretch wrapping, and banding of cargo
- Load and unload trailers/ocean containers in a professional and damage-free manner
- Prepare outbound loads by matching paperwork, labeling, and handling Unit Load Device (ULD) preparation
- Sign off Bills of Lading accurately, verifying counts and damages
- Stage cargo within the warehouse safely and orderly
- Maintain warehouse cleanliness and organization standards through general housekeeping
- Ensure quality standards are met according to SOPs or customer requirements, including reworking or recouping freight
- Contribute to the development of new SOPs related to new business, products, or process changes
- Carry out cross‑functional duties such as receiving, loading, picking, and shipping
- Complete weekly bond checks
- Execute Dock‑to‑Stock procedures and regulations at all times, maintaining building perimeter security and challenging any untoward activity
- Handle bonded import freight into the External Temporary Storage (ERTS) facility in accordance with regulations and breakdown of inbound ULDs as required
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Minimum 2 years of previous warehouse operations experience
- Good physical stamina and coordination; ability to stand/walk for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Certified forklift operator
- Applicants in a warehouse role must complete a pre‑employment drug screen as part of a conditional job offer
- Ability to work flexible hours and days
- High School Diploma or GED (preferred)
- Familiarity with Bills of Lading, Shipping Manifests, Delivery Orders, etc.
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Ability to speak Spanish (site specific)
