Job Description
Our client is seeking an Inventory Technician in Plainfield, IN to assist with a variety of warehouse operations, inventory management, and data entry tasks. This role involves both physical labor—such as breaking down shipments, moving pallets, stocking, picking, and packing items—and administrative responsibilities such as managing spreadsheets, tracking multiple projects, and entering data into internal systems. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, able to work effectively in a team environment, and comfortable with cross-training opportunities.
The position requires the ability to lift up to 75 lbs., perform inventory audits, and provide backup support for other warehouse tasks as needed. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with occasional overtime opportunities. Dress code is business casual (khakis and polo shirt), and scheduled breaks are provided throughout the day.
Skill Set Requirements
- Perform manual labor including breaking down shipments from pallets and moving pallets within the warehouse using a pallet jack (forklift training provided if applicable)
- Use provided tools and systems to scan items and enter information into databases
- Stock items on shelves, pick items as directed, and pack items for shipping
- Manage spreadsheets used for inventory uploads and maintain pick tickets
- Maintain separation of multiple projects (4-5 concurrent) and track associated purchase orders
- Prepare items for shipment to another warehouse for long-term storage
- Perform inventory audits as directed and assist with decommissioned equipment as needed
- Provide backup support for other warehouse responsibilities as necessary
- Perform other duties as assigned
Background
- GED or equivalent preferred
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and adapt to cross-training opportunities
- Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs. and remain on feet for the duration of the work shift
