Are you organized, adaptable, and interested in the behind-the-scenes work that gets library materials into the hands of the community? The Library’s innovative Materials Management department is looking for a Materials Management Specialist to join our collaborative team.
This position combines acquisitions and copy cataloging responsibilities, serving as the connection between the people and processes that bring library materials to our community. Working closely with librarian selectors and materials vendors, you will help ensure materials are ordered accurately, cataloged consistently, and ready for patrons to discover and enjoy.
Along with supporting the day-to-day work of ordering and cataloging, you’ll have opportunities to improve and create new workflows, support new vendor relationships, collaborate with colleagues across the consortium on the shared catalog and contribute to projects that will shape the future of the department and library.
What you might do in a typical day:- Process orders for new and replacement materials with vendor and in ILS
- Coordinate with selectors and vendors
- Copy cataloging of print materials
- Cleanup and maintenance of library catalog
- Assist with materials processing and physical preparation1>
- Assist with new vendor accounts setup and processes
- Participate in special projects
- LTA or degree/training in a relevant field and two years of relevant experience, technical services experience preferred
- OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience
- Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships
- Strong organizational skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to maintain accurate records
This is a part-time, 28 hours per week position. Pay & benefits include::
- Hourly rate of $17.63 - $19.28
