Assistant Project Manager (Residential Construction | NY/NJ)
Role Overview
An established General Contractor/Developer is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join its project management team on a major residential development in the New York/New Jersey area. The company has multiple active multi-story residential projects valued between $75M and $150M, ranging from standard rental developments through to high-end residential construction. Reporting directly to the Senior Project Manager, the successful candidate will assist with the day-to-day coordination and delivery of the project.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with day-to-day project management and coordination
- Manage RFIs, submittals and project documentation
- Coordinate subcontractors and vendors
- Assist with procurement and change orders
- Review drawings and project specifications
- Coordinate between project management and field teams
- Participate in project and subcontractor meetings
- Assist with schedule and cost tracking
- Support project closeout and punch-list activities
- Previous experience with a General Contractor or Construction Manager
- Experience as an Assistant Project Manager or Project Engineer
- Ground-up construction experience preferred
- Multi-story residential experience highly desirable
- Strong understanding of construction documentation and project coordination
- NYC/NJ construction experience beneficial
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- $110,000 DOE
