Permanent Building Substitute Teacher

Location:

College Achieve Central Charter School/ Plainfield and North Plainfield

Compensation: $200 per day

Position Overview

College Achieve Central Charter School is seeking committed and reliable Permanent Building Substitute Teachers to provide high-quality instruction and maintain a productive learning environment in the absence of the regular classroom teacher daily. This is a vital role in supporting our mission of preparing all students to excel at a top college or university. The ideal candidate will have strong classroom management skills, a flexible mindset, and a passion for working with children.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide meaningful instruction to students in assigned classrooms while the regular teacher is absent

* Implement lesson plans left by the classroom teacher or develop engaging activities aligned to learning objectives

* Establish a classroom environment that supports academic learning and student engagement

* Maintain order and follow school policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of all students

* Communicate with students in a respectful and positive manner

* Assist with classroom and school duties as assigned, including hallway transitions, lunch, and dismissal

* Follow policies and expectations established by the school administration

* Provide feedback to classroom teachers on student performance and classroom behavior as needed

* Attend professional development opportunities when required

Qualifications

Education and Certification

* Minimum of 60 college credits and current enrollment in an education program at an accredited college or university

* Valid New Jersey Substitute Teacher Certificate
