12 district in Somerset County serving approximately 3,600 students, seeks a tenure-track Assistant Principal for East End School, an elementary school committed to strong instruction, high levels of student achievement, and a supportive learning environment for all students.
We are seeking a collaborative and student-centered instructional leader who is ready to make a lasting impact on teaching and learning. This role provides the opportunity to lead school wide systems, strengthen instructional practices, support student achievement, and build a positive school culture in partnership with staff, students, and families.

Position Overview:
The Assistant Principal serves as a key member of the building leadership team and works closely with the Principal to support student achievement, strengthen instructional practices, oversee student support systems, supervise staff, and ensure effective school operations. The role includes instructional leadership, staff development, student discipline, school improvement planning, and building-level decision making.
Qualifications:
* Valid New Jersey Principal Certificate (Standard or Certificate of Eligibility)
* Minimum of five years of successful teaching experience (elementary preferred)
* Previous administrative or demonstrated leadership experience in an educational setting
* Strong understanding of curriculum, instruction, and assessment Experience using student data to improve learning outcomes Strong communication and relationship-building skills
* Knowledge of NJTSS and restorative practices preferred
* Bilingual preferred
Key Responsibilities:
* Instructional Leadership and Student Achievement
* Support and monitor the implementation of high-quality instructional practices across classrooms
* Collaborate with teachers and staff to improve student achievement and close learning gaps
* Lead data-driven decision-making and intervention systems
* Support instructional coaching, professional learning, and staff development
* Student Support and School Climate
* Oversee school wide behavior expectations and student support systems
* Support student discipline through restorative practices aligned to district policies
* Promote a safe, structured, and positive learning environment
* Coordinate intervention and student support services
* Staff Leadership and Supervision
* Assist with the supervision and evaluation of staff
* Support staff growth through feedback, coaching, and professional learning
* Foster a collaborative and professional school culture
* Operations and Systems Leadership
* Assist with staffing, scheduling, supervision, and daily school operations
* Support safety procedures, emergency protocols, and building systems
* Participate in school improvement planning and building leadership decisions
* Family and Community Engagement
* Strengthen school-home partnerships
* Support communication with families and community stakeholders
* Other duties as assigned by the Principal or Superintendent.
Terms of Employment:
Tenure-track position anticipated to begin July 1, 2026, or earlier based on candidate availability and district needs.
Salary and Benefits :
Salary range: $116,110 (minimum) to $160,530 (maximum), commensurate with experience.
Benefits as per contract, including medical, dental, flexible spending, tuition reimbursement, paid time off, and professional development.
