Director Of School Counseling
The District is seeking a qualified and experienced leader to serve as Director of School Counseling. This position provides oversight of a comprehensive K12 school counseling program with a focus on college and career readiness, student support, and post-secondary success. Qualifications include expertise in child development and the fundamental theories of counseling and guidance. Ability to effectively administer student counseling services, and to work with parents and community groups and agencies.
Knowledge of college and career readiness programs, post-secondary planning, and student transition supports. Experience in school counseling and leadership. Strong organizational, communication, and data analysis skills. Appropriate New Jersey certification required. Five years of experience preferred. Performance responsibilities include leading and overseeing the K12 school counseling program aligned to district goals. Supervising and evaluating school counselors and related staff. Using data and tools to monitor student progress and improve outcomes.
Developing partnerships with colleges, careers, and military organizations to expand student opportunities. Overseeing counseling curriculum, programs, and services across all grade levels. Collaborating with administrators and supervisors to ensure alignment and support for students. Ensuring accurate student records and compliance with state requirements. Coordinating hiring, training, and professional development for counseling staff. Analyzing program data to guide improvements. Supporting high school scheduling and coordinating assessments (AP, PSAT, SAT).
Serving in district leadership roles, including Crisis Coordinator, Home Instruction Coordinator, and Threat Assessment Team member. Performs other related duties as may be assigned by the Superintendent. Salary: $110,667 (minimum) to $154,947 (maximum) commensurate with experience.
