Learning Disabilities Teacher Consultant
The North Plainfield School District, a culturally diverse school district in Somerset County serving 3,700 students Pre-K through grade 12, seeks a dynamic, enthusiastic and innovative professional for the position of Learning Disabilities Teacher Consultant for the District. Qualifications include:
New Jersey Educational Services Certificate and Learning Disabilities Teacher Consultant Endorsement Knowledge of laws and regulations governing special education and successful experience working with exceptional children Demonstrates ability to effectively assess children's learning characteristics, design appropriate instructional strategies, and plan educational programs Three years of teaching experience. Autism/ABA, Life Skills (MD), ED/BD experience helpful Participates in the evaluation, classification, and placement of all pupils with special needs.
Assesses academic proficiency and learning characteristics of each pupil referred to the child study team for evaluation and interprets the findings in written reports and informal conferences. Evaluates and interprets educational testing results. Develops a detailed educational plan based upon student need. Duties include but not limited to:
Case management Effectively assessing student learning Designing appropriate instructional plans Consulting with educational staff Ability to work with a diverse student population Bilingual English/Spanish preferred, but not required Leave Replacement
Start Date:
09/01/2026-01/29/2027 Salary: $69,630 (minimum) to $78,630 (maximum) commensurate with experience Benefits as per contract:
