We are seeking a certified and passionate General Education Teacher for 1st grade and 3rd grade students to join an elementary school team committed to educating the whole child. This position is ideal for educators who believe all children can succeed when provided with high-quality instruction, a supportive environment, and equitable opportunities. The teacher will be responsible for creating a rigorous, inclusive, and joyful learning experience that fosters academic achievement and personal growth.

• Establish and maintain clear rules and high expectations for student behavior.

• Design and deliver lesson plans, units, and projects aligned with academic standards.

• Communicate learning objectives effectively to students and families.

• Adapt teaching strategies and materials to support diverse learning needs and styles.

• Promote critical thinking, curiosity, and long-term academic growth.

• Create, assign, and assess student work including tests, quizzes, and projects.

• Provide additional support to students who need individualized academic attention.

• Track student progress and use data to inform instructional adjustments.

• Lead parent-teacher conferences and maintain ongoing communication with families.

• Collaborate with colleagues to build a strong school community.

• Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom culture.

• Support students in developing strong study habits and academic skills.

• Administer assessments to measure student progress.

• Participate in professional development, planning meetings, and school initiatives.

• Perform other duties as assigned by school leadership.

• Holds a Bachelor's Degree and either:
  • A valid New Jersey teaching certificate for elementary education, or
  • Is eligible for a CE (Certificate of Eligibility) or CEAS (Certificate of Eligibility with Advanced Standing) in NJ.

• Experience in charter schools or urban education environments is preferred.

• Demonstrated success in driving student academic growth and creating a positive classroom environment.

• Strong classroom management, planning, and instructional skills.

• Willingness to receive and apply feedback to continuously improve.

• Resilience, adaptability, and a student-first mindset.

• Extended school hours or calendar may be required.

• Must be able to stand, walk, reach, and perform physical classroom tasks for extended periods.

• May require travel between campuses.

• Final candidates must pass a criminal background check and provide proof of TB/Mantoux clearance.
