As our Dance Teacher, you'll choreograph learning experiences that stretch students' creativity and command of movement, from their very first steps to the school's biggest stage performances.

- Teach the QCACS curriculum using resources adopted by the Board of Trustees
- Demonstrate the ability to teach a variety of dance styles and methodologies, from beginner to advanced level
- Develop dance curriculum and prepare engaging lesson plans
- Engage, encourage, and motivate students to reach their goals
- Evaluate student performance and make recommendations for improvement
- Choreograph routines and select music for whole‑school performances
- Provide a fun and creative environment where students feel free to express themselves
- Stay current in your discipline, updating dance routines and curriculum as needed
- Provide individual, small, and/or large group instruction to adapt the curriculum for students with varying intellectual, physical, and special abilities
- Collaborate with your grade‑level team on content and instructional strategies that help all students succeed
- Learn and apply strategies to differentiate instruction for every learner in your classroom
- Build positive relationships with students so they feel seen, loved, and heard
- Partner with families to ensure appropriate resources are available to support their child's learning needs
- Engage in practice‑based professional development, mentorship, and coaching sessions
- Bachelor's degree (minimum requirement) and certification as appropriate
- At least a Certificate of Eligibility (QCACS leadership can guide you toward full New Jersey certification)
- A valid New Jersey Certificate or proof of passing the required PRAXIS tests
- Cultural sensitivity and the ability to communicate with parents and students across lines of difference
- Mastery of subject matter content and a team‑player mindset
- High expectations of students and a solid understanding of child development
