As our Building Substitute, you'll be the steady, familiar presence who keeps learning on track any day a classroom teacher is away—stepping into classrooms across grade levels and content areas, and making sure scholars never miss a beat.

- Bring unwavering commitment and dedication to our school design and philosophy, stepping in seamlessly to keep learning on track
- Quickly pick up and faithfully implement the classroom teacher's existing lesson plans, following rubrics and administering assessments as directed
- Communicate and maintain high academic and personal expectations for all students, even as a new or occasional face in the room
- Adapt easily across grade levels and content areas, bringing flexibility and confidence to any classroom you're placed in
- Make content accessible and meaningful to students, even when stepping into material you didn't design
- Leverage technology to foster greater inquiry, collaboration, and supportive interactions with and among students, colleagues, and families
- Maintain a safe, orderly, non-threatening learning environment for all students from the moment you walk in
- Build quick rapport with students and communicate clearly with staff to ensure a smooth handoff before and after each assignment
- Participate in ongoing professional development, including the annual one-week staff training, to strengthen your classroom management and instructional versatility
- Help shape and develop a school-wide culture that promotes student achievement and meets the needs of QCA's families
- Support the administrative team with special projects
Minimum Qualifications
- At least 60 credits working towards a Bachelor's degree
- Ability to communicate with parents and students
- Be a team player
- Hold high expectations of students
- Basic understanding of child development
- Bachelor's degree and certification as appropriate
- At least 1 year of relevant experience
- Mastery of subject matter content
