Impactful Physical Education Teacher K-8 & High School

At Queen City Academy Charter School, we believe a healthy body fuels a sharp mind. As our Physical Education Teacher, you'll get scholars moving, build lifelong habits around fitness and wellness, and show them that teamwork, discipline, and confidence start on the field, court, and gym floor. We are recruiting two Physical Education Teachers—one for grades K-8 and one for high school.

• Instruct using the New Jersey Student Learning Standards (NJSLS) and believe strongly in the connection between quality physical education and overall academic achievement.
• Teach students the benefits of physical activity through a variety of sports.
• Plan a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students.
• Evaluate student progress regularly and prepare progress reports.
• Provide individual, small, and/or large group instruction to adapt the curriculum for students with varying intellectual, physical, and special abilities.
• Stay current on content and instructional strategies that support your students and help all students succeed.
• Learn and apply strategies to differentiate instruction for every learner in your classroom.
• Build positive relationships with students so they feel seen, loved, and heard.
• Partner with families to ensure appropriate resources are available to support their child's learning needs.
• Engage in practice-based professional development, mentorship, and coaching sessions.

• Bachelor's degree (minimum requirement) and certification as appropriate.
• At least a Certificate of Eligibility (QCACS leadership can guide you toward full New Jersey certification).
• A valid New Jersey Certificate or proof of passing the required PRAXIS tests.
• Cultural sensitivity and the ability to communicate with parents and students across lines of difference.
• Mastery of subject matter content and a team‑player mindset.
• High expectations of students and a solid understanding of child development.
