Overview
We are seeking a nurturing and enthusiastic Bilingual Elementary Teacher to teach scholars in both English and Spanish. This educator will foster early childhood development while supporting language acquisition and cultural integration for English Language Learners (ELLs). The ideal candidate will promote literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional learning in a bilingual, developmentally appropriate classroom.
Qualifications- Valid New Jersey Instructional Certificate – Elementary Education (K-6).
- Bilingual/Bicultural Endorsement issued by the New Jersey Department of Education (Required).
- Fluency in English and Spanish, including reading, writing, and speaking.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Prior teaching experience in early elementary or bilingual education preferred.
- Strong understanding of child development, early literacy strategies, and culturally responsive teaching.
- Plan and deliver standards-based instruction in both English and Spanish to young learners in Kindergarten and/or 1st grade.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment that promotes early literacy and language development.
- Utilize age-appropriate materials and teaching strategies that support dual language acquisition.
- Implement formative and summative assessments to monitor student growth and adjust instruction accordingly.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers, ESL staff, and support personnel to meet scholars academic and developmental needs.
- Engage families by providing communication in both languages and encouraging active participation in their child’s education.
- Integrate cultural awareness and bilingual literacy into daily instruction and classroom routines.
- Maintain student records and comply with all documentation required by the district and state.
- Participate in ongoing professional development, curriculum planning, and school community events.
