MFS is seeking a driven, career-minded individual to fill the position of Site-Civil Senior Project Manager in the Site-Civil Division of our dynamic, multi-disciplined civil engineering and land surveying firm. Role:The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the Site/Civil engineering projects and supervising a team of Site/Civil engineers in their group. Duties will include preparation of project deliverables: construction drawings, calculations and technical reports and technical specifications, and existing conditions investigation reports working under the Site/Civil Principal Engineer. In addition, the candidate will be responsible for leading, supervising, managing, and mentoring a team of Site/Civil Engineering staff with support from the Principal Engineer.
The candidate will be responsible for project QA/QC, project budget tracking and project profitability, project billing, proposal development, and client management.
Site-Civil design tasks will include Land Development Planning & Design, Stormwater Management, Utility Design, Permit Acquisition, Construction Administration & Inspection, as well as existing condition investigations or assessments and other Site/Civil engineering design components. This position will work within a divisional team working with Site/Civil Engineers and coordinating work with other disciplines including surveyors, geotechnical and structural engineers.
This position requires in-person work, primarily out of our South Plainfield, NJ office (Headquarters).
Responsibilities- Supervise Site/Civil engineers within their group
- Prepare project deliverables including construction drawings, calculations, technical reports, and technical specifications
- Perform existing conditions assessments
- Develop investigation reports under the supervision of the Site/Civil Principal Engineer
- Lead, supervise, manage, and mentor a team of Site/Civil Engineering staff with support from the Principal Engineer
- Responsible for project QA/QC, project budget tracking and profitability, project billing, project development, and client management
- Perform Site/Civil design tasks such as Land Development & Design, Stormwater Management, Utility Design, Permit Acquisition, Construction Administration & Inspection, existing condition investigations or assessments, and other site/civil engineering design components
- Work within a divisional team collaborating with Site/Civil Engineers
- Supervise and train engineering staff
- Primarily based out of the South Plainfield, NJ office (Headquarters)
- B.S. in Civil Engineering.
- Professional Engineer license in the State of New Jersey and/or State of New York.
- Minimum 12 years of relevant Site/Civil engineering design and construction and permitting experience.
- Must have project management experience.
- Familiar with NYC permitting agencies.
- Familiar with NJ local ordinance codes and DEP storm water management permitting.
- Must have working knowledge of all federal design codes.
- Must have experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and AutoCAD.
- Must have knowledge in using Hydro
CAD software or similar stormwater analysis software. - Ability to develop Site-Civil and multi-disciplined proposals for public or private clients, with a greater concentration on public sector agencies and A/E clients.
- Ability to supervise, manage and mentor junior and mid-level Site/Civil engineers.
- Ability to work with other Engineers and Surveyors on multi-discipline teams.
- Ability to manage time and workload effectively which includes planning, scheduling, organizing, and prioritizing with attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively with agencies, clients, project team, and contractors.
- Excellent written and verbal communication as well as strong design skills.
- Must have strong technical writing skills.
- Motivated and excited to grow with a medium sized firm and the potential to advance with the company.
- Driver’s license and reliable means of transportation.
- Undergo a background check (required).
- M.S. preferred but not required.
