MFS is seeking a driven, career-minded individual to fill the Site/Civil Staff Engineer position. Role
The successful Site/Civil Staff Engineer candidate will perform and assist in the permitting, planning, and design in site/civil engineering and land development projects. Duties will include assisting in the preparation of project deliverables:
AutoCAD drawings, engineering calculations, reports and technical specifications, and performing periodic construction site inspections. Site design tasks will include Permit Acquisition, Land Development Planning & Design, Stormwater Management, Grading and Drainage Design, Utility Design, Construction Administration & Inspection and other civil engineering design components. Site inspection tasks will include periodic contract conformance inspections, SWPPP inspections, and existing site conditions assessments.
In-person work primarily out of South Plainfield, NJ office (Headquarters).
Salary range: $65,000 - $75,000
Requirements- Assisting in the preparation of project deliverables (AutoCAD drawings, engineering calculations, reports and technical specifications, and performing periodic construction site inspections)
- Site Design Tasks (Permit Acquisition, Land Development Planning & Design, Stormwater Management, Utility Design, Roadway Design, Construction Administration & Inspection)
- Site Inspection Tasks (Periodic Contract Conformance Inspections, SWPPP Inspections, and Existing Site Conditions Assessments)
- Other duties as assigned
- B.S. in Civil Engineering.
- Experience with AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant stormwater and site development design and construction, as well as permitting experience.
- Familiar with NJ local ordinance codes and NJ DEP stormwater management design manuals
- Familiar with NYC permitting solutions
- Ability to work with other Engineers and Surveyors on multi-discipline teams.
- Ability to manage time and workload effectively which includes planning, scheduling, organizing, and prioritizing with attention to detail (for oneself and their team)
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients, project team, and contractors.
- Excellent written and verbal communication as well as strong design skills.
- Motivated and excited to grow with a medium sized firm and the potential to advance with the company.
- Driver’s license and reliable means of transportation (required)
- Undergo a background check (required)
- M.S. preferred, but not required
- Continually required to stand, walk, and sit
- Continually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity
- Continually required to talk or hear
- Continually required to utilize visual acuity to operate office equipment
- Occasionally required to bend, stoop, and kneel
- Occasionally required to lift and carry items less than 25 pounds
