Human Resources Specialist and Recruiter

Executive Director

Position Description

The Human Resources Specialist & Recruiter is the primary architect of the UC TEAMS workforce. The goal of this role is to ensure that 100% of classrooms and offices are staffed with high-capacity, mission-aligned professionals.

This position will help transition UC TEAMS from a reactive hiring model to a proactive, talent-first organization by building a consistent pipeline of qualified candidates, strengthening hiring systems, and improving the overall employee experience.

As the Human Resources specialist, this role will also ensure that appropriate HR systems are in place to support recruitment, onboarding, employee records, benefits coordination, compliance tracking, and staff support. The HR & Talent Acquisition Manager will serve as the primary administrator for Bamboo

HR and will be responsible for maintaining accurate employee data, recruitment workflows, onboarding tasks, personnel documentation, and HR reporting within the system.

Key Responsibilities Talent Acquisition
  • Pipeline Architecture:
    Build and maintain a pipeline of qualified candidates so vacancies are filled expeditiously and the school is not dependent only on reactive hiring.
  • Strategic Partnerships:
    Establish teacher pipelines by building relationships with college and university teacher preparation programs, professional associations, employment agencies, online job posting networks, and community partners.
  • Brand Ambassadorship:
    Represent UC TEAMS at job fairs and networking events, clearly communicating the school’s mission, culture, and staffing needs to attract top‑tier talent.
  • Digital Sourcing:
    Optimize online postings and leverage social media, job boards, Bamboo

    HR career pages, and other digital sourcing platforms to reach both active and passive candidates.
Candidate Experience & Operations
  • Concierge Onboarding:
    Manage the onboarding process from interview to Day 1, ensuring a professional, warm, compliant, and efficient experience for all new hires.
  • Interview Logistics:
    Coordinate all school‑level interviews, ensuring school leaders have the necessary rubrics, resumes, screening notes, interview schedules, and documentation to make informed decisions.
  • Recruitment Workflow Management:
    Manage candidate movement through the full recruitment cycle, including application review, screening, interview coordination, reference checks, offer preparation, onboarding launch, and handoff to HR/payroll as applicable.
  • Data Integrity:
    Maintain a real‑time recruitment dashboard for the Executive Director, tracking key metrics such as time to fill, source of hire, candidate status, open vacancies, certification status, and onboarding readiness.

HR Administration & HR Systems
  • Bamboo

    HR System Administration:
    Serve as the primary administrator for Bamboo

    HR, ensuring the system is accurately configured, maintained, and used as the central HR system of record for UC TEAMS.
  • Recruitment Module Management:
    Maintain Bamboo

    HR job postings, candidate pipelines, application statuses, hiring workflows, screening questions, hiring team access, and candidate communications.
  • Onboarding Workflow Management:
    Create, assign, monitor, and update onboarding tasks in Bamboo

    HR to ensure new hires complete required documentation before their first day of employment.
  • Employee Records Management:
    Maintain accurate digital employee files in Bamboo

    HR, including certifications, employment documents, contracts, forms, evaluations, and other required personnel records.
  • Data Accuracy & Reporting:
    Regularly audit Bamboo

    HR data for accuracy and completeness, including employee profiles, job titles, departments, employment status, work year type, certifications, and compliance‑related fields.
  • HR Process Improvement:
    Identify opportunities to improve Bamboo

    HR workflows, forms, approvals, templates, reports, and employee self‑service processes to support stronger HR operations.
Compliance & Employee Support
