Job DescriptionSolder Mask
Job Description:
- Prepare panels for solder mask application by cleaning, scrubbing, and performing surface preparation.
- Operate solder mask coating equipment (spray, curtain coater, or screen printer, depending on the facility).
- Apply liquid photo imageable (LPI) solder mask per process specifications and customer requirements.
- Perform solder mask tack-drying and UV exposure using proper settings and tooling.
- Develop solder mask panels using automated developing equipment and verify proper mask clearance.
- Inspect panels for defects such as pinholes, voids, smears, misregistration, or contamination.
- Touch up solder mask defects manually with approved materials and methods.
- Operate curing ovens and ensure panels meet required thermal cure profiles.
- Verify solder mask thickness, adhesion, and overall quality using inspection tools and visual standards.
- Read and follow travelers, work instructions, and engineering documentation.
- Maintain accurate production records, including lot tracking, process parameters, and inspection results.
- Perform routine equipment checks, cleaning, and basic maintenance to ensure reliable operation.
- Report process deviations, recurring defects, or equipment issues to engineering or supervision.
- Follow all safety procedures, chemical handling guidelines, and PPE requirements.
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and compliant with 5S or facility standards.
- Support cross‑training efforts and carry out other tasks assigned by the supervisor to meet production needs.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic computer skills for operating machine controls.
- Preferably experience operating imaging equipment in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work under yellow light.
- Preferably with a good understanding of PCB manufacturing processes.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and work instructions.
- Excellent attention to detail and quality control skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Adhere to safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment based on OSHA and company policies. Able to lift up to 35 lb. Occasionally, above-the-shoulder lifting.
- 20 lb. when reaching, or precision placement is required
