School Nurse

The School Nurse serves as a key member of the School's student support team, promoting the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of all students. The Nurse provides high-quality care, health education, and preventive services to ensure a safe and healthy school environment where every student can thrive academically and personally.

• Provide direct nursing care to students, including first aid, emergency care, and management of chronic conditions.
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and school policies.
• Maintain accurate, confidential student health records and documentation.
• Develop and implement individualized health plans for students with specific medical needs.

• Monitor immunization and health screening compliance in accordance with NJ Department of Health requirements.
• Respond to and manage communicable disease outbreaks following district and state protocols.
• Ensure the school environment adheres to health and safety regulations and best practices.

• Serve as a liaison between the school, families, and healthcare providers to coordinate care and share information appropriately.
• Participate on student support, I&RS, and crisis response teams.
• Provide professional development and support for staff related to student health and safety.

• NJ School Nurse Certification (or eligibility to obtain).
• Prior experience in school health or pediatric nursing preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Commitment to the mission and values of the School.
