The Middle School Head Football Coach will lead and oversee the middle school football program, promoting a positive, safe, and developmentally appropriate experience for student-athletes. The coach is responsible for developing practice plans, teaching the fundamentals and strategies of football, and fostering teamwork, sportsmanship, and resilience. This position collaborates closely with the athletic department, other coaches, parents, and school administrators to support both athletic success and academic achievement.
Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement age-appropriate practice plans that focus on fundamentals, conditioning, and team strategies.
* Provide leadership and instruction that emphasizes skill development, sportsmanship, and teamwork.
* Ensure athlete safety during practices and competitions by teaching proper technique, supervising activities, and following all district and NJSIAA safety guidelines.
* Communicate expectations clearly to student-athletes and parents, including academics and behavior standards.
* Collaborate with assistant coaches and the athletic director on scheduling, equipment needs, and game-day responsibilities.
* Maintain accurate records of attendance, eligibility, and equipment inventory.
* Serve as a positive role model who supports student growth, character development, and academic success.
Qualifications:
* Current New Jersey teaching certificate or New Jersey substitute certification as required by district policy.
* Knowledge of football fundamentals and strategies appropriate for middle school athletes.
* Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff.
Salary: $5,966.00
