Cost Accountant / Manufacturing Accountant
Location:
Plainview, Long Island, NY
Anna Parson, Robert Half is working with a well-established manufacturing company in Plainview, Long Island, NY seeking either an experienced Cost Accountant or a motivated Accountant with manufacturing experience who is eager to develop expertise in cost accounting. As the Cost Accountant / Manufacturing Accountant, you will:
+ Analyze product costs, inventory transactions, and manufacturing variances leveraging your strong analytical skills and advanced Excel
+ Assist with month-end close, account reconciliations, financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting
+ Support inventory accounting and costing processes including Bill of Materials reviews and updates
+ Partner with operations and production teams to improve financial visibility
+ Monitor material, labor, and overhead costs, allocations and identify trends
+ Help maintain accurate inventory records and support physical inventory counts
+ Participate in process improvement initiatives and special projects

Requirements
Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
+ Manufacturing accounting experience required
+ Prior cost accounting experience is highly preferred but not required
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
+ Advanced proficiency with Excel and accounting/ERP systems
+ Motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to learn and grow professionally
