Overview

Mercaz Academy, an Orthodox Jewish elementary school located in Plainview, Long Island, is seeking a NYS certified general studies teacher for the 2026-27 school year.

• Creating a welcoming, warm, nurturing and positive classroom environment.
• Differentiating instruction to meet the learning styles of students.
• Actively participating in the Professional Learning Community.
• Implementing the school’s standards-based Next Generation aligned curriculum in the areas of English Language Arts, Math and Social Studies.
• Planning and implementing rigorous lessons that actively engage students.
• Creatively facilitating hands-on experiences while actively working with students; making the classroom an exciting place to learn.
• Maintaining open and ongoing communication with families.
• Integrating technology into the curriculum/lessons.

• Monday-Thursday: 8:00-4:00, Friday 8:00-1:45

• Bachelor s degree required;
  Master’s degree is preferred.

• Valid New York State Certification.
