Special Education Teacher

ACDS, Inc. is dedicated to providing lifetime resources and services of exceptional quality for children and adults with Down syndrome, Autism and other developmental disabilities. ACDS offers a warm and welcoming environment and provides services that include Preschool special education programs. ACDS is actively recruiting for the hire of a Special Education Teacher for our Preschool in Plainview, Long Island, New York.

** Hired staff will also receive a $2500 sign on bonus after successful completion of introductory period!**

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs.
• Provide instruction and support to students with developmental disabilities in a classroom setting.
• Collaborate with parents, educators, and specialists to foster a supportive learning environment.
• Monitor student progress and adapt teaching strategies as necessary.
• Maintain effective classroom management and promote positive behavior.
• Utilize communication skills to engage with students and their families effectively.

Requirements:

• Master’s degree with minimum of 1-year post-educational experience working with children with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.
• Special Education Teacher Certification - Birth
  -Grade 2
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
