We are currently looking for an Engineering Technician to work in a team environment to assist engineers to maintain and support development of Veeco's etch and deposition equipment located in our Plainview Applications Lab as well as provide support to daily operations of the lab.

• Set up, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot process equipment, including vacuum coating systems.
• Diagnose and resolve system performance issues using electrical, mechanical, optical, and diagnostic test equipment.
• Support engineering activities including the assembly, testing, and qualification of electromechanical and vacuum systems.
• Provide technical support to engineering and process development teams for research, development, and product improvement.
• Document maintenance activities, test results, and troubleshooting efforts as required.
• Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and preventive maintenance activities.

Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining complex electrical and mechanical systems. High school diploma or GED required;
Associate degree in Engineering Technology, Electronics, Mechanical Technology, or a related technical field preferred. Knowledge, skills, and abilities include:

• Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience assembling, disassembling, and repairing complex systems.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
• Self-motivated with a willingness and ability to learn new technologies and processes.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
• Effective organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail.
• Experience in a high-technology manufacturing, R&D, or engineering environment is highly desirable. Familiarity with vacuum systems, semiconductor processing equipment, or wafer processing equipment is a plus.

The expected salary range for this position is $63,552.00 - $83,621.00 plus a bonus opportunity. We will consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors when determining your pay. Other benefits include:
