Phlebotomist FLOAT

Job Description

Labcorp is seeking a Phlebotomist Float to join our team in Nassau & Suffolk County, NY. Locations may vary among Amityville, Babylon, Bayshore, Commack, Hicksville, Huntington, Levittown, Massapequa, Plainview & Wantagh.

Work schedule:

Monday – Friday, scheduled hours vary between 6:30am-4:00pm and rotating Saturdays.

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information accurately and in a timely manner.
• Process billing information and collect payments as necessary.
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis.
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
• Provide superior customer service to all patients.
• Perform administrative and clerical duties as necessary.
• Travel to additional sites when needed.

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy certification or completed training program, or 3 months or more experience as a phlebotomist.

• 1 year or more of phlebotomy experience.

• In lieu of work experience, Phlebotomy certification or completed training program must come from an accredited agency.
• Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision.
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
• Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test.
• Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record with reliable transportation.
• At least 21 years old.

$17.75 - $26.00 per hour. All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data. Phlebotomists may be eligible for participation in the PST Incentive Plan, which pays a quarterly bonus based on performance metrics. Float Incentive:
Additional $1.00/hr plus mileage reimbursement.

Eligibility: regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week. Employees scheduled < 20 hours are eligible only to participate in the 401(k) plan. Employees on a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.
